Gather the birth details

Use the date, recorded local time and birthplace. A calculator uses geographic coordinates and historical time-zone rules to place the chart. Check morning versus evening and distinguish a documented time from a family estimate. Small time differences matter most when an angle or house cusp is close to a boundary.

Begin with the main placements

Identify the Sun, Moon and Ascendant before reading every symbol. Then locate Mercury, Venus and Mars. Note the sign of each placement and avoid combining everything into a single sentence immediately. A clear list is a better foundation than an elaborate interpretation built on an incorrect input.

Add houses and aspects

Houses organize life areas, while aspects describe angular relationships between planets. Start with the closest major aspects and the placements most relevant to your question. House systems can differ, so record the system used instead of treating every chart-wheel difference as an error.

When birth time is unknown

You can often study planetary signs without claiming precise houses or an Ascendant. The Moon may change sign within the birth day, so even its placement sometimes needs qualification. A noon chart is a working convention, not evidence that you were born at noon. Leave uncertain features uncertain.

Make the reading coherent

Look for two or three recurring themes and connect them to actual experience. If one placement suggests reserve and another sociability, explore the situations in which each appears. Contradictions can reflect different symbolic functions rather than a need to discard half the chart. For calculation, continue to the birth-chart destination on Venus Tarot.
